Canada 2007
April/May 2007

Visiting the family of my boyfriend, we went to Canada for a month in April/May 2007. On a round-trip from Canada to the States and back, we also visited Niagara Falls, the US East Coast including New York as well as Montreal, Kinston and Toronto.

Sorry for the watermarks, but those are my vacation memories, not anyone else's ;)

I'm adding links to the pictures where I have uploaded them to dA as well - there is most likely a slightly bigger version there and you can buy it as print or postcard or whatever if you feel like it.

It was raining cats and Dogs when we arrived in Detroit for our 1 day trip

Niagara Falls

Niagra Falls, Canada, is not much more than a small town that happens to be at the biggest waterfalls the world has to offer. To keep the tourists interested, they've got lots of "fairground attractions", mainly at Clifton Hill:

When we were at Niagara Falls, it wasn't exactly tourist season yet - everything was rather quiet. The boats ("Maid of the Mist") weren't on the river yet, but the Falls themselves more than made up for it.

At the top you can see the American Falls, at the bottom the bigger Horshoe Falls (aka. Canadian Falls).

Left: A "close-up" of the American Falls, the red construction is a walkway for tourists... ~ Right: The Canadian Falls seen from Table Rock - standing directly at the edge so to speak.

"The Journey Behind The Falls" is one of the great attractions - it should not be missed.

Standing at the right side of the platform, looking up, you get an extraordinary view of the water's 50m drop over the edge.

And from the front, you can shoot a great panorama and at the same time find out why the bridge in the distance is called the Rainbow Bridge.

At night, the Falls are illuminated with every-changing colors. Pretty kitschy, but beautiful and enthralling nonetheless.
